Stories of Care in the Library

Culture and Creativity as Tools for Healing and Building Relationships

What is it?

“Trame di Cura in Biblioteca” is a cultural welfare project that promotes the well-being of vulnerable individuals, older adults, and their caregivers through creative, social, and therapeutic activities within a welcoming and inclusive community space.

The project stems from the belief that creativity, nature, and human connection are fundamental tools for personal well-being. The initiative encourages the active involvement of participants and raises community awareness about issues related to frailty and neurodegenerative diseases, while also promoting inclusion and training programs specifically designed for care providers.

Why It Makes a Difference

“Trame di Cura in Biblioteca”makes a difference because it transforms the library into a hub of cultural and social welfare, capable of integrating care, relationships, and community participation.

The project goes beyond traditional models of care, creating welcoming, non-medicalized environments that foster inclusion, autonomy, and emotional well-being. Through art, creativity, and relationships, it builds support networks around vulnerable individuals and their caregivers, helping to foster a culture of shared care that is accessible to the community.
